I love art and Munch is very interesting, though I don't know much about him as an individual. The paintings you showed were new to me as well and I especially liked the sunrise (?) one. In some ways I might have liked this Mona Lisa better than Leonardo's in that it felt fresher and more clear. But they both have their charms. It certainly looked cold there. Hope you were bundled up!
Most of his paintings were new to me as well. I think he and van Gogh have a little bit in common in their painting with the visibility of strokes. Otherwise they are quite different, although they wanted to paint life as it was. I am sure you would love his paintings.
I can agree with you about Mona Lisa. Lighter in colours, and maybe that is why it feels fresher.
Luckily, just before my trip I had bought a warm jacket. Mind you, we have got cold weather here in the south of Sweden as well. Even snow, which is quite early. Would be nice if it stays for Christmas, but I doubt it. Maybe a new set of snow for end of December.
You make me want to go to Oslo soon. As children, we considered Oslo our capital, because it was so close to Karlstad.
The vampire by munch really got me. There are so many hidden messages in that painting.
